It all starts with free text.

What a doctor knows about their patient disappears into free text today. That is where the idea for DocPad came from.

  1. At the beginning

    The reason

    A patient's story is spread across doctor's letters, free text and PDFs. Anyone who needs it has to search.

  2. 2021

    The founding

    PI Health is founded. The idea: one record per patient. One picture instead of a desert of text.

  3. October 2021

    The development

    Development of DocPad begins, with HealthTech Innovators GmbH in Munich.

  4. May 2026

    The certification

    DocPad is certified as a medical device.

  5. Today

    The pilot phase

    The pilot phase in practices is under way. Feedback from everyday practice goes straight into development.

Data first. Then everything else.

The Federal Ministry of Health wants more than 70 per cent of facilities to use AI-supported documentation by 2028. That first requires structured data. DocPad captures it where it is created.

We want doctors to keep the whole patient in view, even when many specialties are involved. That requires standardised data that people and machines can read alike. And it requires time for the patient instead of for forms.

The goal is one medical record per patient, for life. With us, the data travels with the patient.
